Behind Les Fils à Maman are four childhood friends who decided to bring back the good old recipes they enjoyed so much during their childhood, those simple homemade dishes their mothers use to cook for them every day. And so they decided to open their own restaurant that took them back to their childhood in more ways than one.
The restaurant is both a tribute to their childhood, through atmosphere and décor, and also to their mothers, through the establishment of the menus based on their good old recipes. Their main commitment, just as it was the case with their Mom’s, is to only use nothing but the best ingredients in the preparation of their dishes.
Welcome back to the Eighties, to the world of Stéphane, Julien, Laurent and Alexandre, and their childhood superheroes! Enter into the place where Asterix and Obelix (two French comic book heroes) would happily give up the magic potion of Panoramix, for a plate of succulent Rib Steak for 2 and the accompanying hearty helping of Potato Dauphinoise, the place where Astro Boy would fly twice around the world just for a taste of the grilled Babybell cheese. This is the spot where all our childhood heroes converge during lunch AND dinner to devour the inspired dishes of our chef…
Who is this magician in the kitchen, who cooks up meals worthy of Superheroes!? Known as ‘’Le Chef’’, he completed his studies at the French Superior cooking school and trained with some of the most renowned chefs of France but, most importantly, he also learnt the cooking secrets of each one of the four friends mothers.
Les Fils à Maman, are true nostalgic amateurs of good old home cooking and simple and straightforward cuisine. They simply love the time when cooking was also synonymous of delicious, simple but most importantly wholesome. Meals at Les Fils à Maman are full of flavour yet unpretentious, prepared with fresh organic local produce and not lacking in the key ingredient all mothers put into their meals: a large dose of love! When you come to Les Fils à Manan you will find dishes that were prepared by mothers who simply knew how to cook well, they were women that took a leg of Lamb on Sunday or the chocolate mousse that followed...very seriously.
