Welcome to Wilderness.

Wilderness set in its calm location in the High Weald is a perfect base to discover and visit the beautiful gardens and other attractions of Kent and Sussex. If you look at our dedicated page you will see we have listed 20 within 20 miles of Wilderness so guests will not be short of choice!

The house has a long history dating back to the 15th century when it was a typical Kentish farmhouse.

Long happy days start with our Aga-cooked breakfasts before you wander through award winning gardens or one of the county’s many other attractions. At the end of the day you can look forward to returning to the peace of the countryside and relaxing in the nearby gastro pubs and restaurants.

All our bedrooms are comfortable and unusually two of them are self contained allowing you complete privacy.

The south facing Orchard Room is light and spacious with an outlook, as the name suggest on to our garden of fruit trees and the surrounding fields. Open the three sets of French doors and enjoy the country air!

The Hopper’s Room is quaint and cosy with its vaulted oak framed roof.

The Top Room suite typifies the house’s age with lots of beams and character!

An hour from London, this is a rural haven you’ll want to return to, again & again.
